Join us on 3rd August, from 6pm to 7:30 pm for an exclusive out-of-hours guided tour of the National Portrait Gallery with Senior Storyteller Daniel Hausherr. Explore the lives of iconic sitters and artists in the Collection who have shaped Britain’s culture and history across music, politics, science, and more.
Following the tour, ascend to The Portrait Restaurant for a Masterclass celebrating some of the finest English sparkling wines. English sparkling wine has a storied history, from vines first planted by the Romans to a revival in the 20th century. Today, we honour exceptional producers such as Gusbourne, who planted their first vines in Kent in 2004; Bolney Wine Estate, established in Sussex in 1972; and Louis Pommery, a contemporary venture blending French expertise with English terroir.
These remarkable wineries have elevated English sparkling wine to international acclaim, offering a refined array of flavours and styles to savour and enjoy.
