In honour of the upcoming Marilyn Monroe: A Portrait exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, on view from 4 June to 6 September 2026, The Portrait Restaurant invites you to celebrate the life, career, and enduring legacy of Hollywood’s most iconic star.
The exhibition, in association with the Marilyn Monroe estate, features portraits by some of the greatest photographers and artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Andy Warhol, Pauline Boty, Marlene Dumas, James Gill, Rosalyn Drexler, and Audrey Flack, alongside over 20 era-defining photographers such as Cecil Beaton, Philippe Halsman, Bernard of Hollywood, André de Dienes, Eve Arnold, Inge Morath, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Milton Greene, Sam Shaw, Richard Avedon, and George Barris.
With personal belongings like books, scripts, and clothing on display, the exhibition offers an intimate look at the woman behind the image. From her early days as Norma Jeane to her final iconic photographs in Malibu, Marilyn Monroe captivated audiences and continues to inspire artists worldwide.
